英語のものを入れるのは、タイで山を一緒に歩いた若者たちが、日本の文化、歴史、特異性について随分熱心に質問してきたことがあった。
 彼らが興味をもっているのは、マンガの一休さんやその他の日本の動画で小さい時から育ったこともあり、
 断片的に歴史の一コマ一コマを知っていることと、日本的なものへの憧れのような感覚をもっていることが大きいと思われる。
 そうした断片的な質問に対して、断片的な説明では物足りなさを感じていたので、
 日本の特性、文化について書かれているこの本の要約を載せることにした。
